Version 1 Version 2 Version 3This is the guitar chords to play along with the CD. They are easy chords to play and I you enjoy playing it as much as I do. This is meant for acoustic but I'm sure with a bit of tweaking it can be played on electric. Capo 2nd fret [Intro] Slow intro: (strum once on each) D,A,D(hammer on 4th finger),G,A. Fast (continuous strumming) It's the same just contious strumming. The chords changes can be bit fast at first (and confusing. it's four beats between each change except between the and G, then its like 2) but once you get they're easy. [Verse 1] D Hey dad look at me A Think back and talk to me Em G Did I grow up according to plan? D A And do you think I'm wasting my time doing things I wanna do? Em G But it hurts when you disapprove all along [Pre-Chorus 1] Em And now I try hard to make it G D I just want to make you proud Em G I'm never gonna be good enough for you I can't pretend that A I'm alright G And you can't change me [Chorus] (slow strum or picking) D 'Cuz we lost it all A Nothing lasts forever Em I'm sorry Em G I can't be perfect D Now it's just too late and A We can't go back Em I'm sorry Em G I can't be perfect (Fast intro only go through chords once instead of twice) D I try not to think A About the pain I feel inside Em G Did you know you used to be my hero? D All the days you spent with me A Now seem so far away Em G And it feels like you don't care anymore Em And now I try hard to make it G D I just want to make you proud Em G I'm never gonna be good enough for you A I can't stand another fight G And nothing's alright [Chorus] [Bridge] D A Nothing's gonna change the things that you said* Em G Nothing's gonna make this right again** D Please don't turn your back A I can't believe it's hard Em Just to talk to you G But you don't understand (strum once with G and let it ring) ::Slow intro. Second time through the chords, build to chorus:: ::Chorus 2x:: (On the last line strum once on G ['perfect'] and let it ring to end the song nicely) *(mute with your left hand and strum for four beats(6 up and down strums. going back to forming the next chord on 7 and 8.) if you like but on acoustic it sounds better without) **(same as above)
